Two Innovation Schwing S 36 X Boom Pumps Join Our Fleet

The Conco Companies have owned and operated one of the largest concrete pumping companies in the United States for more than 40 years.  Our extensive experience has made us leading experts in delivering cost-effective, quality solutions for even the most challenging projects. One of the reasons why we can accomplish this is that we own one of area’s largest fleet of concrete boom pumps and ancillary equipment.  The newest addition to our fleet includes two powerful and reliable Schwing S 36 X concrete boom pumps.

Conco was the first company to purchase the Schwing S 36 Xs with a new tremie option that allows users to safely support up to 1,100-pounds from the boom. Schwing America states that the “new tip section can be used to support a tremie pipe up to 45-feet long providing the wall thickness is not more than .125-inches. This new option eliminates the need for a crane to support the tremie pipe.”

At Conco we have always believed that a large part of getting the job done right is having the proper equipment.  Our purchase of the two S 36 Xs will allow us to more cost-effectively serve project specific challenges of our drilling customers.  One of the primary reasons that the Roll and Fold boom design is the most effective for tremie applications is that the full 180 degrees articulation at the 2/3 knuckle is on the working side of the boom.

Our new boom pump also features the VECTOR control system that offers two-way communication between the concrete pump and operator from the radio remote box.  The VECTOR system also includes a record keeping system used for managing maintenance.  See our website to learn more about our newest additions as well as all of our other concrete pumps.

Conco’s mission is to be the best supplier of concrete services in the Western United States and to bring expertise, experience and quality to each project.  We continue to upgrade and expand facilities to better serve the growing market for public works projects, commercial, parking structures, educational, and other construction development. We serve California, Washington State, Oregon, Colorado and Nevada.

Largest Fleet of Concrete Pumps on the West Coast

For more than 40 years, The Conco Companies have owned and operated one of the largest concrete pumping companies in the United States.  We reliably serve customers up and down the West Coast with one of the most modern, state-of-the-art fleets of concrete pumps and ancillary equipment.

Regardless of the size or scope of the project, Conco’s goal is to provide the proper equipment along with the best trained crews to cost-efficiently get the job done.  Our large fleet of concrete pumps allowed us to successfully undertake the world’s largest continuous mat pour for the Wilshire Grand in L.A. as well as to do the largest mat pour in the history of S.F. for the Salesforce Tower.  Furthermore, our pumps are capable of pumping concrete up to the highest floors of both of these approximately 1,100 ft. tall skyscrapers that are slated to become the two tallest buildings west of the Mississippi.

Currently we have extensive equipment based in the Washington State area, Northern California and Southern California.  All of our pumps are manufactured by the top names in the industry including Putzmeister and Schwing.  With such abundant resources, Conco has the capability to quickly and efficiently move a variety of materials and meet budget and timeline goals.

A recent example of our commitment to improve efficiency was to help design and then purchase two brand-new Schwing M36/31 concrete pumps. These unique pumps give us the ability to lift long tremmies into caissons without the need for a crane assist, and the compact roll and fold design of the boom does not interfere with typical drilling operations.

Check out our website to see our full inventory of pumps we have available for your next project.  For your added convenience, you can also download the Android or iOS version of our Conco Concrete Pumping Guide to your smart phone or tablet.

The Conco Companies are one of the leading concrete contractors in the Western U.S. and offer a wide range of quality services and products.  While we tackle projects both big and small, our experience includes providing the complete concrete package for the Levi’s Stadium along with other notable projects.  We serve California, Washington State, Oregon, Colorado and Nevada.

If your job requires the use of a boom truck, we need to know a couple of facts to ensure the safety of all involved as well as to get the job done most cost-effectively.  The type of information we need is on our website or you will find it on our apps.  Questions include what size boom does the job require and are there any overhead obstructions, power lines or trees at or surrounding the jobsite? Furthermore, how good is the access to the jobsite, and is there stable ground to set up the pump and to accommodate the outriggers?

This is an efficient way to take advantage of our vast experience in placing concrete even under the most challenging circumstances and to have an experienced team of skilled operators do the job.  Contact us for more information.

Experts in Dealing with a Range of Concrete Challenges

The Conco Companies many decades of experience and abundant resources gives us the expertise to innovate unique solutions to address the various challenges faced by concrete contractors.  One such issue we faced head-on was in the planning stages of how we intended to pump concrete to reach the upper levels of the Wilshire Grand.

The challenge we had to undertake required pumping concrete 650 feet horizontally and then 1,125 feet vertically to reach the upper levels of the skyscraper.  Furthermore, this would be the highest level that concrete was ever pumped in the city.  Along with the need to get concrete to the upper levels, we also needed to do the job without creating air pollution or too much noise for the adjacent office building.  This is where Conco’s ability to think out-of-the-box came in handy.   Our unique solution was to purchase a high pressure, high powered state-of-the-art electric pump.

In fact we were the first concrete company on the West Coast to purchase a pump of this size.  The benefit of the pump is that since it is electric, it allows the project owner and contractor to meet guidelines imposed by Southern California for reduced emissions.  It also produces much less noise that a diesel powered pump, and with an occupied building less than 30 feet away from the jobsite, this was critical.

The new pump will be put to good use pumping more than 100,000 yards of concrete for the Wilshire Grand project and will also be used on the Salesforce Tower in S.F. as well as other Conco projects.  Please see our website to learn more about our broad range of projects and our unique expertise in adeptly handling the most challenging ones.
