Currently, The Conco Companies have
postings for cement masons at our Northern and Southern California, Washington,
and Colorado locations. These are all union positions other than those at our
Colorado location. We offer competitive
wages as well as medical and retirement benefits. Our cement masons are involved in a wide range
of projects such as: heavy highway and engineering construction, viaducts, bridges,
tunnels, airports and water supply, drainage systems and sanitation projects in
addition to docks, wharves, and breakwaters or rip-rap stone.
As one of the leading commercial
concrete contractors in the nation, our highly qualified cement masons have the
opportunity to work on some of the most exciting projects being constructed in
the Western United States. Job duties and
responsibilities include the construction, erection, repair, modification, alteration,
demolition, addition or improvement in whole or in part of any building or structure. Please see our website for complete details
and contact information or to download an application. The Conco
Companies are an equal opportunity employer.
A cement mason is one of the world’s
oldest trades, and experienced cement masons can make the difference of whether
a project is completed on time and on budget.
If you think you might be interested in pursuing a career as a cement
mason, you will need to start as an apprentice.
To find out how to become one, contact your local cement mason union or
contractor associations to learn more about apprenticeship programs.
Programs include both technical
training as well as on the job training.
The technical training provides instruction in the basics of concrete,
concrete formwork, and concrete finishing along with construction related math
skills and blueprint reading. On the job
training will include learning about the tools of the trade along with
practical experience such as finishing sidewalks, curb and gutter, floor slabs,
and architectural concrete.
The Conco Companies are a leading
supplier of concrete services for the Western United States. We have built a
reputation on superior concrete formwork, reinforcing, place and finish,
shotcrete and other ancillary services that benefit from our vast
experience. We have four regional
offices to serve Southern and Northern California, Oregon, Washington,
Colorado, and Nevada.
