The Conco Companies are one of the
leading post-tensioning suppliers in the western United States. Conco operates
two large, state-of-the-art rebar and post-tensioning production facilities to
provide their customers a single source for all their post-tensioning and rebar supply in Portland and the Western U.S. Conco leverages its significant
experience in production and construction to provide high quality reinforcement
materials for each of their projects.
Conco’s
two post-tensioning facilities use the latest high-tech processes and
specialized tools to produce high quality post-tensioning cables that can meet
or exceed a project’s most stringent specifications and engineering
requirements. This includes building information modeling (BIM), update-to-date
shear lines, and lender and post tension cable manufacturing equipment. Conco’s
two large production facilities and storage capacity give them the ability to
provide a quick turnaround at the best value.
The
post-tensioning process
While
concrete is a uniquely versatile building material that has allowed the
development of the modern landscape, it can be weak against lateral forces if
not reinforced. Post-tensioning is a
reinforcement technique that strengthens concrete across spans or
unstable surfaces. In post-tensioning, steel cables, known as tendons, that are
placed within a concrete slab are hydraulically tightened after hardening. This
provides a constant compression force throughout the concrete, strengthening
the concrete against non-compressive forces.
Conco’s project experience with rebar
and post-tensioning
Conco
provides post-tensioning services for many projects every year. One example is Conco’s
reinforcement work with Milpitas 750 in Milpitas, California. Developed by
Anton Development Company and designed by Architect Orange, it is a 7-level
parking garage totaling 189,475 sq. ft that can accommodate
508 vehicles. Conco provided a range of concrete services in addition to
providing 1.6 million pounds of rebar and post tensioning reinforcement.
Another project example is the Santa Clara Square Buildings 3-5,
developed by the Irvine Company and designed by MVE + Partners. This 642,886
sq. ft. project included 1,763 residential units across seven, 5-story
buildings. In addition to placing 22,700 cubic yard of concrete and shotcrete,
Conco also provided 3,100,000 pounds of rebar and post-tension reinforcement.
Conco’s
mission is to be the best supplier of concrete services in the Western United
States and to bring expertise, experience and quality to each project. We
continue to upgrade and expand our facilities to better serve the growing
