The Avalon Dublin Station – Phase III C1 Parking Structure





The Conco Companies are providing concrete services on the parking structure for the new Avalon Dublin Station Phase III 252-unit apartment building scheduled to open in September, 2015.  The building is conveniently located adjacent to the Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station and offers the apartment’s tenants easy access to highway 680 and 580.  

Conco’s work on the project includes the construction of the C1, six-story cast-in-place parking structure that will contain 365 parking spaces to accommodate the apartments. We will place 133,281 sq ft of concrete and use 542,000 pounds of reinforcing steel in building the structure.  The total project will take 4,500 cu yd of concrete and 800 cu yd of shotcrete.  

As part of the Avalon Dublin Station apartment communities, Phase III is also developed and managed by AvalonBay Communities, Inc.  Like Phase I and II, the new phase will offer a host of high-end finishes and amenities to its tenants.  With a choice of spacious one, two, and three bedroom units, each apartment will have an in-unit washer/dryer, gourmet kitchen with quartz stone countertops, and ENERGY STAR appliances.   Select apartments will have a balcony or patio and large, walk in closets. 

Amenities feature conveniences such as a state-of-the-art fitness center, swimming pool, work lounge with conference room and individual work spaces and on-site management as well as a clubroom with entertaining bar, large screen TV and billiard games.  In addition the apartment building is within easy access to the Iron Horse Trail and the Hacienda Shopping Center.

North and South Parking Structures at The Gallery at Central Park





The Conco Companies were awarded the concrete contract for the parking structure for two apartment buildings in a mixed residential project in Santa Clara, CA. The Gallery at Central Park apartments are being developed and built on part of a 27+ acre site that was once a medical campus.   In addition to the two apartment buildings that will have a total of 525 units, the site will include 260 single family homes and townhouses.  The entire project is expected to be finished by 2018.

Conco completed a six-story cast-in-place parking structure with 520 parking spaces to accommodate the residents of the 266-unit North apartment, now called the Hearth in May 2014.  In the course of the project, we placed 211,571 sq. ft. of concrete using 9,500 cu yd of concrete and 275,000 pounds of reinforcing steel. 

At the 259-unit South apartment building Conco is providing concrete services for a five story cast-in-place parking structure with 474 spaces. During the job, Conco will place 173,278 sq. ft. of concrete using 8,000 cu yd of concrete and 287,000 pounds of reinforcing steel. 

The Hearth was opened for occupancy in November, 2014 and incorporates leading edge Green Point Rated building standards.  Each unit is perfectly climate controlled and designed with comfort and conscience. High-end finishes are found throughout the units with real wood plank flooring, quartz countertops with almost zero maintenance, and oversized windows with beautiful views.   Amenities include a yoga studio, theater room, rooftop deck and pool, secure bike storage and a pet spa.

The Paragon Apartments – Parking Structure





The Conco Companies served as the General Contractor on the parking structure for the new Paragon, a mixed-use, 301-unit apartment project in the Central Business District of Fremont, CA.  The developer on the project is SummerHill Homes, a nationally-recognized home builder in Southern California and the San Francisco Bay Area.  The two apartment buildings that make up the community are separated by a pedestrian-friendly public park designed with seating areas and artistic sculptures. 

As the General Contractor on the project, Conco constructed a seven-story, cast-in-place design-build parking structure that contained 445 parking spaces.  The project required 1 million pounds of reinforcing steel and we placed 176,799 sq ft of concrete.  Once the project was finished, we had used 6,200 cu yd of concrete and 2,000 cu yd of shotcrete.        

The Paragon is just one of several mixed-used apartments that have recently been built in the area.  It is located close to the Fremont BART station and made up of a selection of spacious one and two bedroom floor plans with 9-foot ceilings and contemporary finishes.  The amenities feature a pool and spa with a large sun deck, a premium fitness center, an executive meeting room equipped with video-conferencing capabilities, and a community lounge perfect for entertaining.  

Each apartment has high-speed Internet and free Wi-Fi service is available throughout the common areas.  In addition the units are all equipped with energy efficient windows and Energy Star kitchen appliances.  The complex is located within easy walking distance of shopping, outdoor recreation and a selection of restaurants.

The New Stanford Hospital’s Parking Structure





The Conco Companies were awarded the concrete services on the parking structure for the new Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, CA.  The $2 billion hospital structure was topped off in March, 2015 and is scheduled to be open for patients in early 2018.  The building was designed by Rafael Vinoly Architects along with medical planners Lee, Burkhart, Liu Inc.  Clark/McCarthy is the project's joint-venture general contractor (Clark Construction and McCarthy Building Companies).  The hospital will add 824,000 square feet to the existing Stanford Hospital campus and the new parking structure will add approximately 913 new parking spaces. 

Conco’s scope of work on the new parking structure consists of constructing 2 levels below grade, 1 level at grade and 2 levels above grade for a structure that totals approximately 397,359 square feet.  The project will require 4.2 million pounds of reinforcing steel.  During the construction of the new structure, we will use 17,000 cy yd of concrete and 1,200 cu yd of shotcrete.  

The new facility will meet seismic safety standards and is being built to accommodate advances in medical technology.  Once complete, it will include a total of 600 beds with 368 private patient rooms and a Level-1 Trauma Center that is more than twice the size of the current Emergency Department.  In addition there will also be state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment rooms, five gardens, walking trails and a meditation room.  A pedestrian bridge and underground tunnel will connect the new building to the existing Stanford Hospital.

The Amalfi I - Parking Project





The Conco Companies are providing concrete services for the new Amalfi I project under construction in the city of Milpitas, CA.  The luxury 378-unit apartment building, estimated at a cost of $100 million, is adjacent to the future Milpitas Bay Area Rapid Transit Bart Station scheduled to open in 2017.  The architect is Humphreys & Partners and the development company for the apartments is Amalfi Milpitas LLC.

Located in the heart of Milpitas on a new street called Amalfi Loop, the Amalfi I is a mixed use housing project with a host of amenities.  Each unit will embrace a stylish, modern floor plan and is conveniently situated to nearby shopping, restaurants and employment centers.

Conco’s work on the project includes the construction of the 590 space, seven-story cast-in-place parking structure. During the course of the project, Conco will place a total of 201,909 sq ft of concrete (Slab-on-Grade - 27,447 + Elevated - 174,462).   To complete the job 7,200 cu yd of concrete, 2,500 cu yd of shotcrete and 1.3 million pounds of reinforcing steel will be used.

The new apartment is just one project scheduled for the area.  The Amalfi II, a $75-million 260-unit apartment project, will be adjacent to the Amalfi I and has not started yet.  Another project, the Edge, is a $110-million, 1,000-unit mixed use project near Piper Drive and includes 8,100 square feet of commercial and retail uses.
